Macqueen DF Robotics

MacQueen Robots are a reasonable extension to working with micro:bit. Shop around and you can pick them up for around AUD$50 each. But were not here to sell them, nor do we get commission. If you are interested in a fast-start into the world of mechatronics, then these things are pretty good.

This course gives you all the 'driver' code needed to control them with micro:bit. Every function is already defined for you in the code which means you're not fighting pins or Googling code. The driver code is in the script and all students do is use the functions. Think it like functions on your calculator or buttons in your car. Pre-made functions that let you do stuff. For example: foward (2000) means go forward for 2 seconds!

Students learn how to modify the driver code, by testing and tinkering. They also collect evidence, complete a folio and at the end, have something akin to a low end robot vaccuum cleaner which can navigate the world around it.
